Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: How do I know if the item I want to order is in stock?
A: If you can see the item it is in stock. If you do not see an item we normally stock it is temporarily sold out. You can only place the quantity we have on hand in the shopping cart. Example: If you want 100 30rd mags and we only have 98 in stock the website will NOT allow you to put 100 in your shopping cart. If you placed 98 in your shopping cart it will process the order.
Q: How soon will my order ship?
A: All orders are generally shipped with 24hrs. Orders received Friday after 12:00 pm EST will be processed for shipping starting Monday morning. Occasionally holidays and gun show schedules may delay us from shipping within 24hrs. We post our gun show schedule on the front page of the website as well as any vacations / business trips we may have scheduled.
Q: Can I phone in my order?
A: We prefer all orders to be placed through the website due to our inventory control system however if you have no means of doing this we will try to accommodate you via telephone.
Q: Can I really buy a gun over the Internet?
A: Anyone who is legally allowed to own an item is allowed to
buy it here. The following information is not intended to be a
complete guide to all applicable laws. It is your responsibility
to be in compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws when
purchasing from this site.
What does legally allowed mean? You must be an adult who is
able to enter into a contract. Anyone desiring to purchase a
firearm or certian gun parts notated with "FFL Only"
must be able to pass a background check ( Visit the ATF web site for more information ). There are age
limits on the sale of certain items. And certain types of items
are illegal in certain places - for example 'assault
weapons' cannot be sold in California and certain types of
ammunition are illegal in certain states and cities. The NRA also
has put together a terrific
state-by-state gun laws guide. The ATF has compiled
information on the various state laws; click here to view this
information. Again, it is your responsibility to make sure that
you comply with the laws of your country, city, and state. We do
not tolerate attempted illegal activity here!
You do not have to be a licensed dealer to buy a firearm. If
you are not a licensed dealer (also called an FFL Holder), you
must make arrangements with an FFL holder in your state to
receive the item and transfer it to you. Virtually anyone who is
involved in the sale or distribution of firearms is an FFL
holder, including gun shops.
Non-firearm items, such as certian gun parts, scopes, knives,
and ammunition, do not require transfer by a licensed dealer.
There are age restrictions on many of these items, and you may be
contacted to verify your age. In general, you must be 18 years
old to but items on this site. To buy Pistol ammunition, you must
be at least 21 years old; at least 18 years old for Rifle
ammunition.
Q: How can it be legal to purchase firearms over the
Internet?
A:
If you are legally allowed to own a firearm or any other product
that we offer in our online store, you can legally purchase it
online. In compliance with federal law, we are prohibited from
shipping firearms directly to the purchaser (unless the purchaser
is a federally licensed firearms dealer or "FFL").
Rather, during the checkout process for a firearm, you will be
prompted to either enter the contact information for a local FFL
to handle the transfer for you, or you may request that we find
one for you. We will contact the FFL directly to facilitate the
transfer process, requesting a copy of the FFL license (which
must be signed and faxed or mailed to us). Once we have received
the license, we will validate it, then ship your new firearm to
the transfer agent. The transfer agent will contact you and will
be responsible for ensuring all federal, state, and local
criteria are met prior to transferring the firearm to you.
Please be aware that federal law restricts the sale of firearms
to citizens over age 18 (21 for pistols and revolvers) who pass
an instant background check with local law enforcement at the
point of transfer by a local federally licensed retail firearms
dealer. Many other federal, state, and local restrictions also
apply to the sale, ownership, use and storage of firearms.
In general, you may not purchase a firearm if you are a minor, a
convicted felon, a fugitive from justice, a person convicted of a
misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, under a domestic
restraining order, are addicted to drugs or a habitual drug user,
have been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces, are not
a citizen of the United States or have ever renounced your
citizenship. In addition, many states impose additional
restrictions and qualifications upon prospective firearms
purchasers. There are over 20,000 firearms laws presently in
effect across the nation. Please contact your local law
enforcement for further details, or you may go to the BATF
website (www.atf.gov/firearms/statelaws/27edition.htm)
and request their current publication, "State Laws and
Published Ordinances - Firearms."
Finally, it goes without saying that if you are legally
disqualified from owning a firearm for any reason, or you are not
willing to meet the serious responsibilities of their safe
ownership, handling, and storage, we urge you not to purchase or
attempt to purchase any firearm!
Q: Can I purchase a firearm as a gift for someone else?
A:
While firearms may be purchased as gifts for legally qualified
individuals, it is a serious federal offense to attempt to
purchase a firearm for an unqualified individual who is not
permitted by law to own a firearm. For more information, please
view "Don't Lie
for the Other Guy*" for details about
this joint NSSF/BATF program.
